Children of parents in receipt of certain income benefits may be entitled to free school meals. To find out if you qualify, go to Herts Direct - Free School Meals or telephone 0300 123 4048.
Although children in the lower school benefit from the Universal Infant Free School Meals scheme, whereby school lunches are free of charge for all pupils in Reception and KS1, if your family is on low income, it is worth registering your entitlement for Free School Meals now rather than waiting until your child reaches Junior School age. A portion of the school's funding is directly related to the number of children eligible for FSM and there is a Pupil Premium grant (currently £1,320 per annum) in respect of each child registered for FSM now or at any time since they started school.
Children registered for FSM are also eligible for free school milk.
